What to Eat While Taking a GLP-1

Protein, hydration, fiber, and resistance training become more important when appetite drops.

This article is educational and is not medical advice. A licensed clinician must review your medical history before determining whether treatment is appropriate.

Start with protein

When appetite decreases, each meal has to work harder. Protein supports lean mass, satiety, and recovery while weight is changing.

Your exact target depends on body size, activity, kidney history, and clinician guidance.

Hydration and fiber

Constipation, reflux, nausea, and low intake can become problems during dose escalation. Hydration, fiber, and smaller meals may help tolerability.

Persistent or severe symptoms should be reviewed by a clinician rather than managed alone.

Protect lean mass

Resistance training and adequate protein matter because weight loss can include lean mass as well as fat mass.

The goal is metabolic health and sustainable body composition, not just the scale moving quickly.
